Who is responsible for your data
The Human Remedy is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at support@thehumanremedy.com or by post at The Human Remedy, 152–160 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.
What we collect, and where from
We collect personal data in five places on this site.
We also receive technical data automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived. This comes through Plausible, our analytics tool, which works without cookies and does not identify you.
Why we collect it
Our lawful bases are performance of a contract for orders, consent for marketing email and analytics, and legitimate interests for replying to enquiries and keeping the site secure.
Marketing and follow-up emails
If you give us your email address through the quiz or the contact form and tick the opt-in box, we use it to send you emails about our products, offers and guidance. That box is never ticked for you. Leaving it unticked does not stop us replying to a question you have asked.
Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link. One click and we stop. You can also email support@thehumanremedy.com at any time and ask to come off the list, and we will action it within five working days.
How long we keep it
The daily tracker (members only)
If you are a Guided Month member you can use the daily tracker. What you record there is information about your health, which UK GDPR treats as special category data. We handle it on that basis.
Our lawful basis is your explicit consent, given when you choose to use the tracker. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your entries. Withdrawing does not affect your membership or your orders.
Food photos are stored on this site, outside the public media library, and cannot be reached by a public web address. No artificial intelligence service, calorie service or other third party processes them. They are never published anywhere.
Tracker entries and their photos are kept until you delete them, so you can look back over your whole history. Deleting your account deletes them too. You can also download everything as a spreadsheet, or delete all of it yourself, from the bottom of the tracker page at any time.
The tracker records what you tell it and shows it back to you. It does not assess, diagnose, score or advise, and it is not a medical device. Nothing in it replaces advice from a qualified professional.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the businesses that make the order work.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets a small number of cookies that make it work: your basket and session, fraud-prevention cookies set by Stripe when the payment form loads, and short-lived cookies that record how you arrived at the site. If you arrive through a partner’s link, a cookie remembers that for 30 days so they are credited for your order. Our analytics tool, Plausible, does not use cookies. We do not set advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the basket needs its cookie to work.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
Email support@thehumanremedy.com to exercise any of these. We respond within one month and we do not charge for it.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. You do not have to come to us first.
